Hello colleague,

If tomorrow is your first day back, best wishes on a safe and joyful 2022. I was able to stay away from school over break except to check on how many KN95s we had left for teachers (none), and to subsequently order more masks (I have been using Bonafide Masks, recommended to me in a New York Times article.) I wish my budget was big enough to provide all the kids with quality masks too…

As always, thank you for being a full subscriber to this site. With your support, I have been able to pay for transcription costs for podcasts, buy print copies of texts for contributors involved in the summer book study, and donate to worthy causes such as my teachers’ endowment fund which supports innovative practices.

Over break, I reviewed readers’ responses to this space to understand what I should keep doing, what I should stop doing, and what I may want to try next.
