Create Your Ideal Curriculum, Session 1: Develop Your Purpose for Teaching and Learning
In this four-part session, we will take a step back and remember why we entered education in the first place. Then we will take a specific look at what our current challenges are, why they cause stress within our practice, and how we might address these challenges in a way that honors our students’ lives as well as meets district and state mandates. To put these ideas into action, an overview of a more responsive and relevant unit of study will be provided. In addition, we will begin this process by taking a critical eye toward our current curriculum resources.
What was your reason for entering this profession? Maybe we had a driving call to better students’ lives. Maybe we love our content or chosen discipline. Likely, it is a combination of the two.
