And interesting question about x-twitter - how many of your 10,000 followers are actually seeing your tweets under the Musk regime? We haven't figured that out at MiddleWeb. But it doesn't feel like it's nearly our number (13k or so). Digital waste of time?
These are important questions I want to ask when I consider whether to allow Twitter/X back into my life. If yes, under what circumstances - when, how long, for what purpose? (BTW - Musk has made it intentionally more difficult for users to "deplatform" readers from that social media to their own sites/spaces. They have done this through the algorithm, recognizing a Substack link and suppressing it's visibility in other people's feeds.)

In the meantime, the digital declutter is in full swing: https://readbyexample.substack.com/p/a-30-day-digital-declutter-diary/comments?r=hacl&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&triedRedirect=true
I read Digital Minimalism a while back and think I’m due for a reread and perhaps more focused implementation.
If you do revisit it, let us know how it goes for you, Susan. I'll be posting a little bit from my declutter journey here: https://open.substack.com/pub/readbyexample/p/a-30-day-digital-declutter-diary?r=hacl&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
This is going to be interesting for you and I’m intrigued. Looking forward to your reflections.
Thanks Mandy, hopefully I can tame my attention.
I've read Stolen Focus and always appreciate your book recommendations! Can't wait to hear your thinking after this exercise...
Thanks Debra.
Keep us posted, Matt. I know that’s ambiguous as all heck, and I don’t mean to break your detox…take good notes.
For sure, thanks Terry for the encouragement. I plan to post some reflections here: https://readbyexample.substack.com/p/a-30-day-digital-declutter-diary/comments
