Based on the few responses I received from a previous request for feedback, plus my coaching work in schools this month, I get a sense people are pretty overwhelmed! (But if you do have some time, consider completing this two question survey. It helps me understand what’s on top of your mind as an educator.)
So instead of an article this week to read, I am posting a short video. In it, I demonstrate how to setup a new month in a coach’s notebook.
You will learn:
Oliver Burkeman’s open task/closed task strategy for not feeling so overwhelmed,
the difference between a monthly log/timeline and daily log, and
how to migrate tasks and intentions from the previous month to a new month.
The purpose of keeping a coach’s notebook is to cultivate presence when supporting clients, while also being more organized and productive with all of our responsibilities. A coach’s notebook can be used by anyone: principals, teacher leaders, specialist - anyone who supports the professional growth of others.
I hope you find this helpful!
Take care,
Matt
